State Bank of India is the largest public sector bank. From this financial year, five other banks joined with SBI and will be operating in the name of SBI. State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Jaipur, joined SBI. Following this, the name boards of those banks and the branches had been renamed as State Bank of India. Idukki district’s Kumuli in Kerala has a branch of State Bank of Travancore. When the name boards were removed and newly changed, the customers of Travancore Bank felt hard, as they don’t want to shed the name Travancore, as it had been operating for Seventy Two years.
