and is within slingshot of Kanchana 2. October 1st will see the release of the next big blockbuster, Puli and this is expected to join the top 5 in the course of its run in theatres.
We have some information about how well the top grosser did at theatres in the city, though these are not official numbers. The Shankar-Vikram film I did 9.67 crores, Baahubali has grossed 8.29 crores and is still running, Raghavendra Lawrence’s Kanchana 2 did 6.27 crores, Jayam Raja’s Thani Oruvan has mopped up 6.11 crores and is still in the reckoning and then there is Ajith’s Yennai Arindhaal which did 6 crores.
