Following the rules laid by the government regarding the ticket prices, the chain of theaters including PVR and INOX are dissatisfied with the announcement. It is reported that the theaters might opt for a strike. The government announced that the maximum ticket price in the AC theaters including the single screens and the multiplexes should not exceed Rs. 160. The government reduced the entertainment tax by 2% and the local tax is brought down to 8%.
