Exit Strategy Movie Review

Radio Anchor Big Boy. The plot revolves around James and Kim, the two main characters in the movie. 

James has an irresistible charm in him. But, he is very lackadaisical and does not take life very seriously. When James is thrown out of his apartments, he needs a refuge. So he lives under the same roof with his girlfriend Kim with whom he had developed relationship three months back. But living in with her becomes difficult for James as he realizes that she is not the right one for him. Also, he comes to know that he does not share any interest with her. 

He seeks advice from all his mates including his college friends. They come out with ideas about how he can share a couch with Kim and at the same time maintain a distance from her. But, there are many odds in his new life, and there is a cosmic change in lifestyle. He has lots of household errands to do, and he cannot get involved in sports. He cannot sleep during the time he wants. One fine day, he happens to share dinner with Kim’s father and it turns disastrous. 

With a suggestion from his high school friend and a radio anchor, he tries to meander his way out of the relationship with Kim. But, at the same time, he does not want to forsake his refuge. He has to make a choice. But his attempts to retain his refuge and at the same time keep a distance from Kim do not yield results. Some day or other, he has to confess that the relationship would not work after all. The rest of the movie is about how James finds a way out of oddities.
 

It appears like Michael Whitton, the movie’s director has come out with a wonderful movie in spite of the fact that only less money went into the movie. The backdrops were simple, such an apartment and a high school. The main focus of the movie is the relationship between James and Kim. Actors Saleem and Weathers are real life friends, and she reemerges after doing a role in Saleem’s web series. The chemistry between the two actors seems to work out well. 

Weathers has handled well the shock following the realization that James is not after her. Also, her delivery is impeccable when she battles to retain her relationship with James. The movie is worth watching for performance by both the actors. The director deserves praises for coming up with a quality movie made out of a low budget.
