A bit out of the way Thierry Guetta maintains video footages from various street artists who lead an obscure life. Eventually, Thierry Guetta gets the title of Mr. Brainwash and becomes a street artist.

There are controversies regarding the authenticity of information in the movie. But Banksy has been maintaining that the film is a real one. Also, he has avoided appearing on screen for fear of getting legal punishment.Once, Banksy commented that the plot is about the difficulty in filming the unthinkable. And, he finally adds that the filmmaker eventually fails in the attempt. The plot is as follows. Thierry Guetta, who has been making documentaries, tries to locate Banksy, who is a street artist. In his attempt to gain the artist’s good will, Thierry Guetta finds that the street performer has turned the camera eyes on Thierry himself.

Banksy happens to be the antihero of the movie. Guetta’s obsession for documentaries and video footages is fun to watch. The bizarre truth is that if the movie is a form of cleanly knit street art, it adds up to the fascination. If considered thus, it is just not a movie with artists’ appearances.

Verdict: It could be an effort by the media to make out the difference between the true art and fake art.
