Plot: An FBI Agent tries to investigate the killing of a professor which leads to an unraveling of various viscous and hidden truths about the murder which turns out to be a scandalous move by the government to keep behind the knowledge of some villainous activities.
What you may like:
1. The movie has a treat for all those people who dig in a movie for amazing special effects and cinematography because this one has done a great job at that.
2. The strong and powerful performances by all the actors are very much effective. It is because of this believability that you tend to get attached to the characters and feel what they make you feel throughout the movies.
3. The movie majorly deals with the Cold War that Taiwan and US had during the 1980s and did a good job portraying the brutalities and complexities of the same.
4. As the movie moves in pace, the unraveling of various secrets leads to us hooked up to the plot, ready to see the movie shed down its layers of secrets and nefariousness.
5. As much as the visuals are great, so is the background score which is wonderfully composed and works effectively throughout the film. The detailing of the movie has also been done pretty well making the movie a superb piece of art which was worked upon with a close sight.
What you may dislike:
1. Although, the movie needed a lot of polishing, especially with a slightly crooked plot.
2. The idea of moving backwards and forwards in time through flashbacks become very distracting and distressing. This could have been worked upon by the editor.
Verdict: A movie is worth a watch by people who like to see a lot of things going on screen, with truths unraveling and suspense being unveiled as this movie is just full of it.
