In 1980, she got a bachelor’s degree in drama from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, after which she moved to New York to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. In 1982, she was known to have gotten stuck in an elevator with Beth Henley, the playwright, and the encounter bagged her a role in Broadway’s production- Crimes of the Heart, as well as in an off-Broadway production titled, ‘The Miss Firecracker Contest’.

Chris Messina is an actor from America who appears in films and TV shows. He is also a director of a few dramas. He is most famous for an appearance in movies like Argo, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and You’ve Got Mail among others. His role as Chris Sanchez in the TV show Damages and his character of Danny Castellano in the Mindy Project have also gained him a lot of recognition. Born on August 11, 1974, in Northport, New York, he studied the theatrical arts while he was in high school. Later he joined Marymount Manhattan College but left just after one semester. He learned to act from private tutors and kick started his career as an off-Broadway actor. After making an appearance in episodes of TV shows like Law and Order, Third Watch and Medium, he finally got the recurring role of Ted Fairwell in the fifth season of HBO drama show Six Feet Under. He acted in the movie Devil and later appeared in the movie Monogamy in 2010, the latter premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival and winning the jury award for Best New York Narrative. He was in the cast of “Damages”, a legal thriller series, in its fourth and fifth seasons and also acted in the HBO series “The Newsroom”. Later he was regularly seen as Dr. Danny Castellano in the sitcom, The Mindy Project.

The story realistically portrayed the AIDS crisis that the youth of Newyork faces. The name of the story was "Kids". Although the film had several criticisms, many had garnered reviews for the movie. The movie was about 24 hours. Later he joined the film producer Cary Woods. They joined hand for their film "Gummo" which budgeted about $1 million. By the year 1997, he directed a million projects. Their film was notable for features like Death Metal, Madonna, and Roy Orbison.
