This film is a tribute to the original “three stooges” of 1930s television and is a slapstick comedy.
Plot: The movie is split into three episodes. The three Stooges, Moe(Chris Diamantoupoulos), Larry(Sean Hayes) and Curly(Will Sasso) are left at the door of an orphanage. The trio have been creating a pandemonium since their arrival. Sister Mary-Mengele(Larry David) is fed up of them and desperately tries to give them up for adoption, when they are ten years old, but fails miserably. She presents only three but another child, Teddy, shows up and get adopted due to Moe’s refusal to part from the trio. They become adults and are still at the orphanage as janitors when they find out they need 8,30,000 $ to save it, and they go out on the mission to make money. In the second episode, Lydia(

) offers to pay them the money if they murder her husband so she can be with her lover. They obviously screw up the job, hurting people on the way, getting followed by cops and then running into Teddy. They find out Teddy is Lydia’s husband and end up fighting, resulting in Moe splitting away from the other two. They later realize they had been performing an audition on stage and Moe gets selected for a part. In the third episode, they get along and realize how important it is to save the orphanage. They save their friend Teddy and gets Lydia, Mac (her lover) and Mr. Harter(the mastermind) arrested. When they request Teddy for money, he turns them. They return home only to realize that their orphanage had been rebuilt grander and better. They ascertain that Jersey Shore’s producers had made the payment in advance to cast the there of them in a reality show.
The movie tries to replicate the magic but turns out to be silly at most attempts. The cast pulls off a brilliant performance in living the persona of the characters and though it is the best way to present the money it still isn’t hilarious enough. One can feel a sense of joy watching it not the banana slip comedy one expects.
Verdict: A worth watch for the people acquainted with the Stooges and passable comedy movie.
