Meghna Gulzar is among the few female directors in Indian cinema. And this talented lady doesn’t have a belief on feminism. Meghna Gulzar is the daughter of prominent lyricist, screenwriter and director Gulzar. Renowned yesteryear actress Rakhee is her mother. 

Born on 13 December 1973, Meghna made her directorial debut with the 2002 flick Filhaal, which had Sushmita Sen, Tabu, Palash Sen and Sanjay Suri sharing screen space. This film was critically well received. Filhaal delved into the sensitive topic as a surrogate mother. But the movie was not a commercial success. Poranmasi (short film) and Just Married are the other directorial ventures of Meghna. Just Married deals with the initial days of a newly married couple. 

Meghna kick started her career in writing, by donning the role of freelance writer for Times of India. She was also associated with NFDC publication Cinema India. 

Meghna wanted to produce films the way she wanted. Meghna feels that there should be development in a film maker’s career, otherwise there is no point in making films. 

Meghna has written a biography about her talented father Gulzar.This book follows her father’s hardship days and also his successful tenure in the Hindi film industry. Creativity is in the genes and this lady has got it from her father. She had also written poems and they have been published. 

Meghna didn’t take her film career easy; before venturing into it, she did documentaries and music videos. Also, she did an international production course on movies. She in fact, helped her father in Hu Tu Tu. 

Meghna is quite an introvert, but is known to be a hard task master in the sets. Meghna is wedded to a banker named Govind Sandhu. At present she is working on a work which falls under the production of Vishal Bharadwaj and her father Gulzar.

Deepika Padukone is an Indian actress and model. She was born on 5th January 1986. Deepika is one of the most famous celebrities. She is working in Bollywood films and won two film fare awards. She is the daughter of the badminton trouper Prakash Padukone. Copenhagen was the birth place of Deepika. She was raised in Bangalore. She frolicked badminton in national level championship in her teenage but later on she switched her career from spots and became a model. In 2006 she did receive some offers for Indian films and did her film debut. In 2007 she did double role in her first Indian bestseller film Om Shanti Om. In the same year she won the film fare award for best female debut. In 2009 she performed in an Indian film Love Aaj Kal and in 2010 she acted in a drama Lafangey Parindey. Her performance in Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008 and Housefull in 2010 got negative reviews.

In 2012 her performance in the super hit movie Cocktail was turning point of her career and she won many awards in different ceremonies and she was nominated as the best actress. After that she acted in many super hit films of Bollywood such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in 2013, Chennai Express which is also released in 2013 and Happy New Year in 2014. She won film fare in 2013 for the performance and lovely acting in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Deepika Padukone also did many stage shows as well. She has also inscribed posts for Indian newspapers. She is a prominent celebrity and brand ambassador for many brands and products.

Laxmi is a TV host and a campaigner for acid attack victim rights. She was born on June 1, 1990, in Delhi. At the age of fifteen in 2005, Laxmi was attacked with an acid by a man whose approval she rejected. She has undergone many surgeries, including eye surgery. In 2006, she approached Supreme Court by way of Public Interest Litigation. Laxmi worked for the rights of acid attack survivors, and in the process, she went on hunger strikes. She also received an International Women of Courage Award and was praised by Michelle Obama. Laxmi has a daughter named Pihu. Laxmi’s story is very inspiring, and the entertainment industry recognized it and worked in this area for films. ‘Chapak’ movie starring Deepika Padukone, is based on Laxmi’s story.

Best known as Santosh of ‘Naa Ana is Desh Meri Lado’, Madhurjeet Sarghi is an Indian TV actress. This serial was one of the highest grossing TV series of its time, which dealt with female infanticide as its main topic. It was aired on Colors channel and did almost 807 episodes. Madhurjeet Sarghi played the role of saints who was Karan’s mother. Sarge won the hearts of almost million of Indians through this character.

Ehsaan Noorani is one of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio, composing of three talented Indian musicians namely Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan himself and Loy Mendonsa. He is a popular music composer and guitarist. 

Ehsaan was born on October 12, 1963 in Hyderabad, India. He grew up in a place instilled with appreciation to different music genres at an early age. At 14, he started learning guitar under the teaching of Bismarck Rodriguez in Mumbai. During the mid 80’s, he attended the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT), which is known as MI now. This became the turning point of his life as a musician as he slowly began to progress as a guitarist with huge potentials. He considered this period as ‘the best years of his life’. He went to Los Angeles, which is known to be the Music Capital of the World, and showed himself to the great musicians like Larry Carlton, Robben Ford and many more. 

Ehsaan was influenced by the famous bands of the 70’s like Pink Floyd, Led Zepellin, Wishbone Ash, Santana and Deep Purple. Since then, he became inclined and fond to the Blues; something about the genre has caught his whim and he continues to hold into it until today. He listened to BB King, Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton and Robert Ford to help him in shaping up his Blues vocabulary and become a stepping-stone to his improvisation. 

When he returned to India, he worked with coposers like Louiz Banks for several advertising commercials and continues to create trends to the industry with his captivating tunes, expertise in guitar and his cleverness in music. This led him to compose music for commercials and just before he knew it, he was brainstorming with Shankar and Loy. The trio started to compose music for films and they were known as SEL. 

Composing music for films and commercials had helped him to experiment in various music styles like blues, metal, electronic, rock and country, but his heart is still fond of doing Blues and until now, he is still performing with his band called Apostrophe. 

Ehsaan together with Shankar Mahadevan have lent their vocals to several songs, including Yeh Dil Deewana from the 1997 Bollywod film Pardes, Vande Mataram from the 2000 comedy-drama film Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi from the romantic comedy film Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge. He also lent his guitar pieces to songs made by many music directors like Vishal Shekhar for the songs Bin Tere and Sadka Kiya from the box-office hit film, I Hate Luv Storys and Small Town Girl from the rom-com film Bachna Ae Haseeno. 

To prove his mettle in the world of music, Ehsaan has won several accolades in his entire career for his work in films like Kai Ho Naa Ho, Bunty Aur Babli, Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Mission Kashmir.

Loy Mendonsa is an Indian pianist, musician, and singer. He is more renowned as the member of the trio group Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, which he co-founded with singer Shankar Mahadevan and guitarist-singer Ehsaan Noorani. His career initially began for Doordarshan productions, where he composed the theme song of “The World This Week” show. Before the formation of his trio group, Loy has worked with the Indian music great A.R.Rahman and Nadeem-Shravan.

Shankar Mahadevan, a well-renowned, talented and famous music composer, and singer. An accomplished musician in Tamil cinema, he is a part of the Shankar Ehsaan Loy trio team that provides music to Bollywood and other International films. He has won various Indian and multiple National Film Award. His most famous albums include, “Breathless“- Album that first gave him fame, including the song, "Breathless," in which he sings throughout the whole song without pausing to breathe and “Nine” - Nine is Shankar's most recent album. Each song is a representation of a "mood," including joy, sadness, love, etc. He was also invited by UNESCO and the US State Department to perform at the UN General Assembly Hall for the finale of the International Jazz Festival on 30 April 2012 which is a thing of pride. Shankar has always considered himself as a restless student wanting to learn more every time. He says he’s thirsty and want to learn every time and experiment with something new. He wants to be a perfectionist. Shanker also feels that Karnatak music is the most powerful form of music and he himself started with Karnataka classic which he says is the best to create a prominent base for music. Music is the thing which excites Shanker the most, and he would always be attached to it. Personal Life: Shanker Mahadevan was born in Chennai to a Tamil family but was later brought to Mumbai and was raised there. Being born into a Tamil family and later raised in Mumbai, he knows both Hindi and Tamil language but is not well versed with Tamil and Malayalam. He finished his schooling from OLPS High School in Chembur and his engineering in computer science from R.A.I.T (D Y Patil, Navi Mumbai). His wife, Sangeeta is Maharashtrian and oldest son Siddharth Mahadevan. Also, a singer, made his debut on the 2013 Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’s song, Zinda. Shankar’s youngest son, Shivam Mahadevan, also a singer made his debut in 2013 in the movie Dhoom 3’s song, Bande Hain Hum Uske. Mahadevan is fluent in Marathi, Tamil, Hindi, Urdu and English.

Akkineni Sreekar Prasad, also called Sreekar Prasad, is an Indian film developing capable, known for his works in the Indian film industry. He works unpreventably on Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and English movies. His received National Film Award for Best Editing, for his exceptional work on the part motion picture Firaaq (2008), composed by Nandita Das.

Vikrant Massey, who is a TV actor, was born in Nagpur. He is also a dancer and worked as choreographer for various shows. He has been noted by several people for the leading roles in several TV serials. One such serial is ‘Dharam Veer’, which was a period drama that was presented to the people by Sagar Arts. This series was aired on NDTV Imagine. His role in ‘Balika Vadhu’, which was a drama series that aired on Colors TV, was also very popular.

Abhinav Sarin is an assistant director, director, actor, and writer in Bollywood. He is famous for his movies like Chhapaak (2020), Dill Deewana (2021), and Kaappaan (2019). Abhinav Sarin is an alumnus of Ravi Sarin Institute, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He is not only a director but also an actor and writer. He was an actor in a movie called It’s My Life (TV Movie) and as a writer and director, he did Dill Deewana (Short). He has done many movies as an assistant director. Uunchai (2022), The Sky is Pink (2019), Chhalaang (2020), Ujda Chaman(2019), and Sharmaji Namkeen are other movies by Abhinav Sarin. He has done some short films too. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar(2023), and Dono(2023) are some of his movies.

Gulzar is the pen name of the author, poet and popular lyricist Sampooran Singh Karla. He was born on the 18th of August in 1934 in Dina, Jhelum district of British India to parents Makhan Singh Karla and Sujan Kaur. His career kicked off under the directors Bimal Roy and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. His songwriting career began with the movie Bandini, released 1963, for the tunes composed by music director Sachin Dev Burman. From then on, he went on to write the lyrics for many memorable songs of the Bollywood industry. He worked with magnanimous music directors like R. D. Burman, S. D. Burman, A. R. Rahman, Lakshmikant-Pyarelal, Madan Mohan, Rajesh Roshan and Anu Malik to name a few. The work of the trio Maniratnam, A. R .Rahman and Gulzar is much remembered in the industry. He has also given dialogues and screenplay for movies like Anand, Khamoshi, Saathiya, etc., He even tried his hand as a director through the years 1971 to 1999 during which he directed more than 20 films.

Most famous for his songs in Aashiqui 2, Arijit Singh has established himself as a prominent playback singer and music programmer. He was the runner-up in Fame Gurukul, a singing competition, in 2005. He then went on to win another singing reality show, 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil.

Born in 1987 in West Bengal, Arjit was trained in classical music by his aunt and mother. He had a passion for music from an early age and his parents decided to get him a professional trainer, Rajendra Prasad Hazari for classical music and Dhirendra Prasad Hazari to train him at tabla.  His teachers encouraged Arijit to try out for Fame Gurukul in 2005 and chose to promote the Indian classical music genre.

Pritam Chakraborty gave Arjit a chance and signed him for three films; Crook, Golmaal 3, and Action Replayy. He made his debut singing “Phir Mohabbat” for Murder 2 in 2011. This kickstarted his career as a playback singer and led to him singing songs such as; “Raabta", “ Duaa", and “Phir Le Aya Dil", earning nominations for the latter two in Mirchi Music Award With the release of the hit song “Tum Hi Ho” Singh became a common household name. The song helped him win nine awards from various award shows. He has since sung.

Music composer and singer, Siddharth Mahadevan, is the son of a very acclaimed music composer and singer, Shankar Mahadevan (a part of Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy). Siddharth was born on 3 March, 1967.

Debajit Changmai is an Indian audio engineer who has literally given voice to over 150 Bollywood movies in a career spanning nearly two decades. He was born and raised in Sivasagar, Assam, where he attended the Sivasagar Government H.S. & M.P. School. He graduated from the Jorhat Institute of Science & Technology before pursuing his masters from the Jyoti Chitraban Film and Television Institute in Guwahati. He joined the FMx studio in 2002, where he currently works as the senior re-recording mixer. His first project was as an assistant sound mixer in Tighmanshu Dhulia’s “Haasil” (2003), starring Jimmy Shergill and Irrfan Khan.

Ashraf Khan is a Pakistani actor who worked in the Urdu film industry. He is a versatile actor who was born on 17th February 1978 in Lahore, Pakistan, and currently living in Karachi. Ashraf is famous as a comedy actor and was mostly recognized for his role in the movie Dug Dugi. He worked on both stage, television, and films and was also appeared in some Punjabi movies.

Raj Mittal is mainly known for his work in the visual arts department and has worked in many films in the Bollywood film industry. He was the production coordinator for a video titled Alpha and Omega in 2016. He has also worked as an actor in two short films. He was Raj Mittal in Bum Gola in 2015 and a Hippie musician in Shiv Shambhu in 2015. He was the composer of Hanuman Chalisa Trance, Vande Mataram Theme, and Hare Krishna Trance in 2016. He was also the director for all these projects. He has produced his work- Dare to be different in 2014, Bum Gola and Shiv Shambhu in 2015, Hanuman Chalisa Trance, Vande Mataram Theme, and Hare Krishna Trance in 2016; and Utha Utha in 2017, in which he was the co-producer. He has worked as Visual effects artist and producer in two of his own projects- Shiv Shambhu and Hanuman Chalisa Trance.

Ankit Bisht is an Indian Actor and has been a fresh talent for the Indian film Industry. Ankit was born in Delhi and was a part of the Asmita Theatre Group as well as Prem Matiyani Productions in the city for over five years. Later, he shifted to Mumbai to pursue a career in Bollywood film industry. His Debut film was Shashank Khaitan’s romantic drama Dhadak. He has been a part of other projects, one of which is Sujoy Ghosh’s short movie Good luck. He is a usual face in the Indian TV advertisements as he has endorsed numerous products. 

For Delzad Hiwale, the lad from Pune, life in films started quite early when he was only 14, getting cast in a role that fitted him to a T. That was as a high school student in the steel town of Jamshedpur, having a crush on a class fellow and all the ups and downs that went with it. The film itself, as well as his acting drew quite a lot of acclaim with “Bubble Gum” being declared as one the 5 best watchable films of the year 2011. Though in no way a money spinner, the film did reasonably well, and would be better remembered for the treatment of a juvenile theme, and its deft handling, not the least was the life like portrayal of the central character rendered by Delzad. 

From that naughty young lad of 2008, Delzad had moved a long way, when he got his second major role. That was in a totally different and much more serious setting, in the 2012 Anurag Kashyap movie, “Chittagong” – a period film based on the Chittagong armoury raid by freedom fighters in the British India of the 1930s. Although the Varun of “Bubble Gum” and Jhunku in “Chittagong” are both students, for Delzad to portray these vastly different roles, needed immense courage and self belief and obviously loads of talent. The character of Jhunku was quite a complex one with several nuances getting added as the film progresses, but Delzad displays exemplary maturity much beyond his years to lend substance to the role. Pitched against stalwarts like Manoj Bajpayi, Barry John and Nawazzudin Siddiqui, Delzad surely had much to learn, but also gave back in equal measure through a highly credible role that fitted in fine with the level of performance of the others in the film. However, getting into the film was not a cakewalk for Delzad as he had to face competition from almost 3,000 other actors of his age to get selected for this important role. 

Although Delzad hails from Pune he was not a product of the film institute. Being born there and having spent his formative years there he picked up his acting skills from the Natyakala Institute in Pune, and was actively encouraged by his parents. As his name would suggest he was of mixed parentage, being born to a Parsee mother and a Maharashtrian father, both of whom had more than a passing interest in the performing arts. What the future holds for Delzad is yet to be seen, but in case he would like to pursue an acting career, he seems to be eminently equipped for it.

Devas Dixit is an Indian film actor born on June 20, 1995, in New Delhi. He has worked in several movies like Raid(2018), a film based on a real-life income tax raid conducted by the officers of the income tax department on Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s. The raid was the longest in Indian history, lasting three days and two nights. Raj Kumar Gupta directed the movie. Raid features Ajay Devgan, Saurabh Shukla, and Ileana D'cruz in lead roles. He plays the role of Shashi Singh. He worked as a casting assistant in the movie Kaamyaab. It is a 2018 drama film directed and written by Hardik Mehta. The film stars Sanjay Mishra and Deepak Dobriyal with Isha Talwar.
