His acting was highly applauded in the film ‘Dushman’ in which he played the role of a cold blooded murderer and psychopath killer and he won award for the ‘Best Actor in Negative role’ in the ‘Filmfare’. He is mostly given roles of antagonists in movies, particularly that of a killer. He has played the role of Alia Bhatt's father in Karan Johar's “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”.
