Though Ram Gopal Verma considered him too cute to play a gangster's role and was in second thoughts Vivek went to the slums of Mumbai and did his homework and after a couple of weeks he barged into Verma's office dressed as Chandu the Gangster, swung his feet up on the table and landed the contract which turned out to be a remarkable debut.
