Plot

Amit, Javed and Om are three retired friends who decide to go on a trek to pay tribute to their friend Bhupen, who passed away without fulfilling his wish of doing the same. Their journey brings forth several emotional and spiritual revelations about life and the true meaning of freedom.

Analysis

Uunchai is a beautiful, emotional movie with a genuinely heartfelt message and raw feelings throughout. It's a movie exploring morals, life values, friendship, love and life- recurrent important themes of life through the bond between three friends. Underlining the importance of human relationships and love, this film highlights sentimentality and feelings in a realistic, yet old-school way. It's woven in a way that viewers cannot help but feel as if they're in the room with the main characters, feeling the raw emotions that the characters are going through at that very moment. Although the cinematography is average, the storyline and direction is splendid. The cast performances are incredible with Amitabh Bacchan, Boman Irani and Anupam Kher in lead roles. It's a definite tear-jerker and a movie that will leave you in your feels after you finish watching it.
