Upasana Singh was born on June 29, 1975 and was married to actor Neeraj Bharadwaj in 2009, while they were doing the Aye Dil-e-Nadaan serial. Upasana comes from a middle-class family. She studied in a government school in Punjab, India and graduated in the Punjab Technical University.
She is a good actress and a stand-up comedian. Upasana’s debut film was the Rajasthani language film’, Bai Chali Sasariye. After that, she started acting in various regional films and was recognized in the Punjabi, Gujarati and in Hindi film industry. Upasana was also seen doing various supporting roles in films like, Jawani Zindabad, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Old is Good, Hungama, Loafer, My Friend Ganesha and more. Upasana was also popular in doing comic roles for TV and movies and performed in well-known series like Ye Meri Life Hai, Pari Hoon Main, Ishq Da Kalma, Sonpari and Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. She became popular on her performance as a deaf and dumb in Judaai; a 1997 Indian Bollywood film. She got her massive break in 1999 for doing the blockbuster film, Sarfarosh. Followers appreciated her performance in the 'God Tussi Great Ho' movie and the 'Golmaal Returns'.
At present, she is part of the TV series, Comedy Nights with Kapil, playing the role as the paternal aunt. She was called Pinky/Bua in the show and her dialogue, “Bittu, Kaun hai ye aadmi?” received so much popularity among audience as well as her character in this show. She has a remarkable sense of humor and her talking style is amazing. She received an award for her character in Bani – Ishq Da Kalma in Golden Petal Awards.
4. Kitu Gidwani
Kitu Gidwani is a model and an actress from India. She was born on October 22, 1967 at Mumbai, India from a Sindhi household who moved to Pakistan after the India’s Partition. They reside in a refugee camp located in Worli in Mumbai. Kitu made her schooling at the Fort Convent School, Mumbai. During her post graduation in college, she became interested in French language and she started to perform in French plays. Later, she also performed in English plays under the direction of Janak Toprani. Then she made her way to the television industry and acted in 1987 French movie, Black where she appeared as a Brazilian native.
Kitu doesn’t have any formal training in acting. But she has an amazing collection to her credit. She was into theatre, television and film. Theatre became her training ground and she got the chance to work with brilliant artists like Vikram Kapadia. Kitu was never married and she promised that she will never settle down due to the danger of quest on what she calls, the Duende; a hunt for harmony with various supernatural characteristics of the living and the nature.
Kitu was debuted as a television actress in the 1984 serial, Trishna. Some of her remarkable performances in television from 80’s to 90’s are Air Hostess, Junoon and Swabhimaan. She was recognized by many audiences after doing an intimate kissing scene with her Junoon’s co-star, Raj Zutshi. Aside from the shows Swabhimaan and Junnon, she is also doing the serials Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum and Saahil. Then she was seen in the Hindi serials, Kaashish and Kulvadhu.
She started her venture in the big screen in the 1992 film, Rukhmavati Ki Haveli. She also essayed the role of Pallavi, a promising classical singer who fights to bring her voice back when she loses her mother who is also her mentor in the Hindi film, Dance of the Wind in 1997. Her character gained her the Best Actress Award in the Three Continents Festival in Nantes, France. She played as Lajma in Karvaan (Shadows in the Dark) in 1997. Lajma is a middle-aged woman who resides in Pakistan. Then she did small roles in the romantic film, Student of the Year in 2012, Dhobi Ghat in 2011 and Fashion in 2008. She was also bagged in to play the role of a traditional Parsi woman in the play, Sock ‘Em With Honey.
Kitu also did films like Holi in 1984, Janam and Wisdom Tree in 1985, The Khajuraho and Rukmavati Ki Haveli in 1991, Tehkikaat in 1994, Shaktimaan and Earth in 1998, Abhay and Happily ever After in 2001 and many more.

Binod wanted to sharpen his talent, but this could never be possible in Darjeeling since there is no proper institute to train him.
