It became evident that his love for the stage was much more than an intention of just becoming a run of the mill movie actor. He had by then formed his own production team and started directing short plays, being associated with theatre quite actively for a decade.
Although he has acted in some mainstream commercial films like “Phas Gaye Re Obama" he was first critically noticed in director Dibakar Banerjee’s Love Sex aur Dhokha” and later on in "Peter Gaya Kaam Se" by John Owen. However, of more significant impact has been the selection of another Dibakar Banerjee movie “Titli”where Amit has played an important role, for screening at the Cannes Festival, taking Amit Sial one more step ahead in his resolve to be acknowledged as an actor of some class....

The motion picture received a highly negative response, and by some critics, it was a disaster.
