Kannada Movie Review Panchatantra - Cast & Crew

Sonal Monterio is an Indian film actress, popular amongst the regional audience for her work in movies like Ekka Saka (2015), Jai Tuluad (2016), Maduve Dibbana (2018), Saajan Chale Sasural 2(2019), etc. Mostly known for her major involvement in Telugu short films, TV shows, and Tollywood movies, Sonal has often been admired by the spectators and critics for her exceptional expressions and body language while filming the plot sequences. 

Akshara Gowda is a South Indian actress who was seen in Tamil and Hindi films. Akshara Gowda was born as Harini to ‘JPS Gowda’ and ‘Gowri Gowda’ in Bangalore in the year 1991. Akshara has a sibling named, ‘Harshitha’, who is doing her tenth standard.

Yogaraj Bhat was born on 8th October, 1973 in Mandarthi, in coastal district Udupi of Karnataka. He is the 7th child of Ramachandra and Jayalakshmi Bhat. Ramachandra lost his life in a boat mishap.

Yogaraj is a famous director in Sandalwood industry. He has also tasted success as a lyricist, producer and screenwriter. He is mostly known for his 2006 hit Mungaru Male, which was written by Bhat along with Preetam Gubbi. He directed the film and wrote lyrics with others. Mungaru Male recorded the highest box office collections in Sandalwood history. His other achievements include introducing talented technicians to the industry like Pawan Kumar of Lucia, Pawan Wadeyar and many others.

His lyricist journey started with Mungaru Maleye from his film Mungaru Male and there was no looking back. He has written lyrics for more than 100 super hit songs for the films such as Gaalipata, Jackie, Junglee, Hudugaru, Paramathma, Pancharangi, Chingari, Super, Anna Bond, Crazy Loka, Shiva, Lifeu Ishtene, Johny Mera Naam, Victory and many more. He is so versatile that he can write a song like Mungaru Maleye and a fast one like Hale Paathre, showing his range of lyrical talent.

Bhat was inspired by classics like Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather, Akira Kurosawa's Ran and came to Bangalore at 22, to become a cameraman. As a newcomer, he served as an assistant to Girish Kasaravalli, Sunil Kumar Desai and many others. He was more thrilled about watching film making at close quarters than working with big names.

Bhat directed a TV serial, before making his first film. But it took him 8 years, before a producer could back him independently. His first movie was Mani and that showed memorable performances by Rangayana Raghu and veteran actress Umashree, both won State awards for their roles in the movie. Then he directed Ranga SSLC (2004) starring Sudeep and Ramya in the leading roles, however it did not do very well.

His next film after a long break Mungaaru Male became the biggest hit in South India, creating a record and followed by another hit, Gaalipata. He also acted in the film Dyavre for one of his assistants, which started his acting career.

Hariprasad Jayanna, an associate of Yogaraj Bhatt, is a prominent Indian director and film producer who has predominantly worked in Sandalwood, the Kannada film industry. He was the producer of action/drama/romance film 'Panchatantra' which hit the theatres in March 2019. He had his directional debut in 2020 with the teenage romance 'Padavipoorva, ' which translates to 'pre-graduation' in English. It was made under the banner of Yograj movies, owned by Bhatru. The movie, which is set in the 90s, explores love, friendships, and romance. Even though the cinematographer and music director has been decided, the cast has not been selected yet. The project began in January 2020 but was halted temporarily. It is also et to launch a new hero, Prithvi Shamanur.

Hemanth Paradkar is a film producer from Bangalore, Karnataka, who has majorly worked in Sandalwood, the Kannada film industry. He produced the film 'Panchatantra' in 2019, which was directed by the celebrated director Yogaraj Bhat. A business and commerce graduate from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, he is a veteran in the real-estate sector where he worked for a decade and has experience in several fields, including Retail, Land, Commercial, Residential and Hospitality.

V. Harikrishna is an Indian movie background score and soundtrack author, playback vocalist and also a movie producer. He has primarily produced background score for many Kannada movies. After his job as a software engineer and associate music artist, he made his entrance as a free music director in the movie Jothe Jotheyali, which starred the famous actor Darshan and was released in the year 2006. From that point onwards, he has been making music for many of Darshan's movies. 

Raghu Dixit, born in Mysuru, Karnataka, is a famous singer, songwriter, music composer and producer who founded The Raghu Dixit Project, which is a platform for artists and musicians from various genres to create and showcase their talents. Dixit’s music is rooted in Indian culture and traditions, depicted in a contemporary form. Raghu Dixit is a master level Bharathanatiyam dancer. He studied microbiology and was working in Belgium as a scientist. He was always passionate about music, thus, he also played on a local radio station in Belgium. At the age of 24, he returned to India and worked as a technical writer in a software company for a year and a half.

Vasuki Vaibhav was born on December 7, 1991, to a Kannada speaking family in Mysore, Karnataka. He is the son of Jayaram, who is a famous drama artist. Vasuki did his schooling at The East-West School and Jana Seva Vidya Kendra in Bangalore. Vasuki completed his BCom degree at Surana College of Arts Science in Bangalore. Shortly after that, he obtained a degree in Mass communication at the Dayananda Sagar Institutions in Bangalore. At a very early age, Vasuki Vaibhav decided to pursue his career in the field of singing.

Vijay Prakash is an Indian playback singer and film composer. He was born in Mysore and moved to Mumbai in 1996. He worked in so many Hindi films including Blue, Yuvraaj, Swades, Kaal, Lakshya, Matrubhoomi, Tere Naam, Cheeni Kum, Raavan, and Force.

Born on 28th December 1979 to late Haji Ayub, Imran Sardhariya is a well-known choreographer and a film director of the Telugu and Kannada cinema. His wife Saniya is a costume designer. His shot to fame has been with the famous song ‘Stylo Stylo’. To add to his list of accomplishments, he has about 250 songs accredited to him and also the choreography of two Telugu movies – Josh and Chalaaki.

Vihan Gowda is an Indian actor best recognized for his role in Yogaraj Bhat’s Kannada romantic drama “Panchatantra” (2019). He played the protagonist, Karthik in the film which is set around a group of youngsters that decides to solve its dispute with some senior citizens by participating in a car racing event.

R Lingaraju is an Indian actor who predominantly worked in the Kannada cinema. He was born on 27 October 1973 in Mysore, Karnataka, to S.Rajamma and S. Racha Shetty. Most famous with his stage name Bala Rajwadi has also worked in Tamil cinema, Telugu cinema, and Malayalam cinema industries. From 1993, he has mostly worked as a stage actor with the theatre group known as Janamana. In 1997, he made a debut in a Kannada movie Nodu Baa Nammoora.

Deepak Shetty is an Indian Film Actor. He works in the Kannada and Telugu Film Industry. Deepak started his career as an actor in the Film Industry with Kannada Film named Srikanta. The film released on the 6th of January in the year 2017. The story of the film revolves around Srikanta who works in small petty illegal activities. He gives a lift to Shashi, a journalist en-route to Agumbe. They both talk and share their life experiences in their journey. Manju Swaraj is the director of this film. The film has Shiva Rajkumar, Chandni Sreedharan, Vijay Raghavendra, Achyutha Kumar, and Deepak Shetty in the main roles.

Rangayana Raghu was born on 30th November, 1963. He acts in Kannada film industry and his genre is comedy. Till date he has appeared over 100 films and most of them have been comic roles.

He began his career in theatre group by name Rangayana in Mysore, way back in 1988.  His initial salary was just Rs 800 per month. He was supposed to make his debut with 1995 film Suggi, which was directed by award winning director Hamsalekha. Unfortunately, Suggi was shelved and never released.

His first major release was 2002 film Dhumm, starring Kiccha Sudeep and Rakshita directed by M.S. Ramesh. He went to act in films like Ranga SSLC, Rakshasa, and many more. However his best films till date are 2007 film Duniya and 2013 film Director's Special.

Duniya showcased Raghu at his best. Overall Duniya bagged 4 Karnataka State Film awards in 2007, including Best Supporting Actor for Rangayana Raghu. Director’s Special is a Kannada satire comedy film, written and directed by Guruprasad. Along with debutant Dhananjay, Rangayana Raghu essays the role of lead Panche Shastry / Ramachandra. This movie really showed Rangayana Raghu’s theatrical background and what he can do in a film with his power packed performance which was a mix of comedy and sarcasm.
