Gana Bala, a famous singer and lyricist of Kollywood, was born as Bala Murugan, but he adopted the name Gana Bala himself as a stage name. His recurrent laugh in films is sure to irritate you or rather tickle your funny bones, but that is one of his strengths. Madhan Bob ventured into the film industry by donning the role of a musician. Madhan Bob is active in the industry since 1992. Madhan Bob is also associated with Sun TV as one of the judges of the show Asathapovathu Yaaru.

Vaaname Ellai is the film in which Madhan Bob debuted in Tamil film industry. It is believed that A R Rahman and Maragathamani learnt music from Madhan Bob. Madhan Bob was born the eighth member in his family. He founded a music group named Madhan and Babu, along with his brother Babu. Madhan Bob is still a musician and manages a music troupe. While Madhan Bob was working on the shooting of Mappillai he met with an accident and got injuries. Madhan Bob was, however brave enough to break open the door of the car which was rolled over, and hence saved his assistant and car driver. He was hospitalized and eventually he resumed his shooting.
