Plot

This movie revolves around the Ghostbusters, who try to protect the world from entering an ice age again. Callie Spengler, Gary Grooberson, Trevor, and Phoebe decide to move to New York City along with Lucky Domingo and Podcast to revive the Ghostbusters again by assisting Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore. Phoebe becomes friends with a ghost named Melody. Walter Peck tries hard to stop them by using his power as a mayor, but soon a bronze orb is discovered by Ray and Podcast, which releases a psychic pulse that damages the firehouse. Ray, Phoebe, and Podcast decide to find any information about that orb, so they visit Dr. Hubert Wartzki, who is working as a research librarian. He tells them that it is an instrument to trap Garraka. Melody betrays Phoebe by saying that she has been trying to release Garraka to achieve an afterlife. Will the Ghostbusters save the world again by preventing the release of Garraka?

Star Performance

Kumail Nanjiani delivers a performance in a way that is hilarious to watch. He acted in a way that showed the depth of the character. Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, and Finn Wolfhard acted their character in a significant manner. But the relationship between Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd seems lovely to watch. McKenna plays a pivotal role as a whole.

Analysis

Gil Kenan directed this movie in a little predictable manner with few foolish moments that are illogical, but he also included scenes where the audience awaits to watch. The cinematography is intriguing, just like the aesthetic of the previous movie, where the shootings mostly took place in New York City. The music plays a primary role in this movie. Most of the unnecessary parts should have been avoided but still, some moments are funny to laugh out hard. The film does remind us of the nostalgic feel but differs from the last movie in many aspects. Phoebe and Melody's interaction sometimes gives an awkward feel to the audience.

What’s there?

● It is a funny, adventure, and sci-fi drama with a pretty similar theme to the previous movie.

● There are many hilarious moments from the beginning to the end of the film.

What’s Not There?

● The movie hardly keeps the audience hooked.

● The unnecessary subplot and a few pointless scenes could have been avoided.

Verdict

This film is entirely made up of adventure, comedy, sci-fi, and mystery. The movie should have been made more engaging to keep the audience hooked like the previous one, but it's unique in its way. The director crafted this film inch by inch in the finest manner. If you are a devoted adventure and mystery movie lover, it is worth watching this film once.
