AMMA is a Telugu drama serial aired from Monday to Friday on Gemini TV channel. Kinnera played the role of Lakshmi, who is the main character of the story. The show implies the story of AMMA (Lakshmi), a 40-year old striving woman who initially lost her husband. She was living with her 2 daughters and her son.

AMMA lost her mother at an early age and so, all the responsibilities from her family lay on her shoulder. She was not able to finish her studies and was forced to work and earn. She took care of her father, Muralidhar. But later on, her father also died. Until she met a guy named Radha Krishna and fell in love with him and got married. But her husband died on an accident and life started to become harder and tougher for AMMA. She faced all her problems and fought to survive. She assures that her children will grow as a better person.

She worked in a petrol bunk and shifted as a house keeper. She does everything to raise her children. AMMA signifies the dilemma of a self-supported young widow and how she raised her children to grow up with admiration to their mother and how they realised how hard it is for AMMA.
