‘Manoyagnam’ was a Telugu television serial that was aired on ETV. It had a telecast of 260 episodes. ‘Manoyagnam’ was a novel that was translated into nine languages and the serial was an adaptation of the novel written by Suryadevara Ram Mohan Rao. The concept of the serial was by famous Indian filmmaker, K. Raghavendra Rao. The music was composed by Saluri Vasu Rao, who won the Nandi Award from Andhra Pradesh Government for best music composition in the television category.
Actor Rajkumar was particularly cast to play the main character in the series. Another actor Kaushik Babu was also included in the cast. K. Raghavendra Rao’s daughter Madhavi was the executive producer of this serial. The serial was telecast from 30th July 2001 to 9th September 2002. The concept of the serial was devised as early as 2000 when the production crews were geared up for this serial. In those days, people were obsessed with social dramas and the result was one classic serial, ‘Manoyagnam’, invented for Telugu TV channel.
