The Numbers Game is an English language TV show that airs on the channel National Geographic. The series is written by Scooter Yancey and directed by Michael Rucker. The producers are Rich Bye, Lisa Singer Haese, and Michael Rucker. It started on 22 April 2013, and the first season ran for three episodes. The second season started on 24 March 2014 and ended on 23 June 2014 with twelve episodes. The series features the data scientist Jake Porway. Jake Porway has a Ph.D. in statistics and leads his life with the belief that numbers and data make you a King in life. With the same belief, he runs this show to prove to people the same. His favourite thing to do is transform raw data. With this show, he has changed the point of view of thousands of people regarding data. Numbers are one of the most important things in this world.

Since before the advent of the computer, numbers have played a major role in the evolution of man and the evolution of technology. We use them in the evaluation of costs, revenue, stocks, performance, targets, and many more. When interpreted in a certain way, they run different programs that today’s world cannot live without. My argument so far has probably convinced at least half of you that the world runs on numbers. If not, this show will do that for me. Through The Numbers Game, Jake Porway will prove that when applied and interpreted right, numbers can do wonders and that they can solve any problem in life. Each episode features one topic, the result of which he will explain in terms of numbers.

He presents statistics, performs man-to-man interaction, experiments with people on the road, involves them in a little game play, and by the end of the episode, convinces the viewers that he is right. The first episode of the first season was ‘When will you die?’, where he explained how to live longer. The second episode was ‘Will you make a million?’. The final episode of the first season was ‘What drives you crazy?’, and explained how not to go crazy. The first episode of the second season was ‘Could you be a hero?’, where he explains how to be one. The next one, ‘Are you a sucker?’, features April fools’ day pranks and how to save the embarrassment. The next one was ‘Are you desirable?’, where he helps you increase your physical hotness. The next episode, ‘Can cracking codes change?’, featured some of the mysterious codes in history.

The fifth episode, ‘Are you a jerk?’, told the viewers how not to many a lot of enemies. The sixth episode was ‘Are you a big liar?’. Jake told the viewers how to spot a liar. The next episode, ‘Could you survive a zombie apocalypse’, prepares you to face any challenge. The eighth episode, ‘How tough are you?’, boosts the viewers’ strength. The next one, ‘Could you be the boss?’, features the best traits of a boss. The next episode, ‘Are you superstitious?’, tells you to embrace strange habits that could potentially change your life. The next episode, ‘Can you get what you want?’, features the art of persuasion. The last episode, ‘Are you a risk taker?’, finds out how much of a daredevil the viewers are. It is unfortunate that the show is unavailable in India.
