The Kerala State Film Awards is the award given for the motion pictures which gets made in Kerala. These awards are given on the behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, India. The first award was given in the year 1969. Awardees were decided by the people who form the independent jury and, the jury contains eminent personalities of the film industry.
The Award for the Best Film will get a cash prize of INR 100,000 along with a certificate to the producer, Best Director will get a cash prize of INR 50,000, Best Actor will get a cash prize of INR 1 Lakh along with a certificate, Best Screenplay will get a cash prize of INR 15,000 with a certificate, Best Cinematographer will get a cash prize of INR 15,000 with a certificate and Best Actress will get a cash prize of 1 Lakh with a certificate.
