Malikappuram is a Malayalam mythological serial that started airing on Asianet TV on 6th November 2023. The serial aired every Monday to Saturday at 6 PM. Unnimol resides with her uncle and aunt, Anupama. Her cousin is the only one in her uncle’s family who cares for her. Her aunt and uncle treat her as a servant. Unnimol’s grandmother, Devaki Amma, loves her much and is the only one who supports her. Devaki Amma resides with her other son, Jayan, and daughter-in-law, Mini. Devaki Amma is a great Ayyappan devotee. She narrates stories of Lord Ayyappan and his friend Vaavar to Unnimol. Hearing these stories, Unnimol started following her grandmother’s path in worshipping the Lord Ayyappan.
When Unnimol and her grandmother face rejection at their homes, their only trust is in Lord Ayyappan, and they believe he will help them one day. Their prayers didn’t go unanswered. Lord Ayyappan disguises as Giri Devan, a school-going kid, and enters the lives of Devaki Amma and Unnimol. His friend, Vava, joins him on the journey. Meanwhile, Anupama plans to kill Unnimol without getting suspected by anyone. The rest of the story follows how Giri Devan saves the grandmother and granddaughter duo from various troubles and teaches lessons to the people who torture them.
KR Vijaya, the veteran actress, plays the role of Devaki Amma, the Muthassi of Unnimol.
