Vetri Veera is a Tamil TV series that airs on Chithiram TV daily. All of us have grown up reading Aesop’s Fables and Jataka tales. These stories are rich in imagination. The variety of scenarios depicted in the stories expand a child’s mind. Through interactions between the talking animals, the complexities of relations between people are simplified such that a child can easily understand them. Vetri Veera follows a similar narrative. An eponymously named monkey, who lives in the jungle with other talking animals, solves the problems that arise in the jungle.
True to his character of being a monkey, Vetri Veera is often mischievous and his pranks on the animals are a source of amusement for the viewers. He is also very smart and cheeky. Using his wit and intelligence, he helps his animal friends out of trouble. As a part of Chithiram TV’s ethos, the show is kept clean and free of any double meaning jokes. It is a completely child-friendly show which imparts moral values to its young and impressionable audience.
