Thedi Vantha Thirumagal is a Tamil-language soap opera on Captain TV. The serial airs every Monday to Saturday at eight in the evening. Each episode has a runtime of 30 minutes. Captain TV is a 24-hour Tamil entertainment channel launched in 2010. L K Sudhish, the brother-in-law of Tamil actor Vijayakanth is the MD of the channel. Thedi Vantha Thirumagal is the average story of sister rivalry. Padmavathi is an orphan. She is the very definition of a cultured, well-mannered girl. She is loved by people and is a joy to be around. Sivaram is a humble and well-off man who adopts Padmavathi as his daughter. However, Sivaram’s biological daughter, Nandini, unhappy with her father’s decision, hates Padmavathi.
Padmavathi tries her best to convince and make Nandini like her but to no avail. The base reason behind such harboured hatred is the immense love Padmavathi receives. As a result, Nandini feels betrayed and abandoned. She eases the feeling of jealously through the act of making Padmavathi’s life troublesome. Though the serial’s plot is stereotypical, certain characters and portrayals have kept the audience coming back for more. Thedi Vantha Thirumagal is the average story of an average girl, but the cast and relatability have made it a good serial.
