Velunatchi is one of the popular sports-based daily soap of Colors Tamil which aired on 20th February 2018 till 26th July 2018. The Tamil language soap Velunatchi stars V.J. Chitra and Manikandan in lead roles. Actress V.J. Chitra is playing the characters of Velunachi meanwhile Manikandan is playing the role of Arul. Velunatchi is the story of a young girl Velunachi who turns herself to a strong woman taking ahead her father’s lineage. What stands the show outstanding and unique from other daily soap is that it is a first Tamil soap opera which focused on Silambam, (Silambam is a weapon-based martial art of India). Where Velunachi’s father was a Silambam artist, Velunachi was most attached to her father only.
But life takes troll on Velunachi when her father becomes physically challenged after an incident. Thus Velunachi turns a major support to her father in this toughest time. Velunachi takes up a challenge to break the social orthodox and become a silambam artist like her father. The critical incident which made her father paralyzed, changes Velunachi’s whole life upside down. Velunachi takes a firm decision to fight back the social critics and become a proud silambam artist taking ahead her father’s lineage. Holding a bamboo stick in hand with a fierce look in eyes, Velunachi begins her fight to make her father proud.
