Debolina Mukherjee is an Indian actress who has been prominently working in the Bengali film industry since her debut as a child artist in the film Manush Amanush. She was born on 20 April 1977 in Kolkata. This Bengali actress completed her graduation from Loreto College in Kolkata and after her debut saw no coming back. Debolina has been a prominent face in Bengali advertisements. It was in 2014 that she received a National Award for her role in Taan as a Water Prostitute which moreover added to her fame. It was in the same year that she tied knots with a Bengali actor and an independent filmmaker, Tathagata Mukherjee.

Recently she has been in news for her liberal and secular views and food choices. This has resulted in legal proceedings against the perpetrators and has been targeted by far-right hate groups associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
