Alana Haim

Alana Mychal Haim is a famous American music artist, singer, songwriter, actress, and composer. She was born on 15 December 1991 in a Jewish family in Los Angeles, California, US. Her father, Mordechai Haim (Moti), was a retired professional soccer player who moved to the US in 1980, and her mother, Donna Rose, was an elementary school art teacher from Philadelphia. Her family belonged to a musical background where her father worked as a drummer in a choir group, and her mother was a folk singer. Her mother was a winning contestant in an American amateur talent contest, The Gong Show, in 1970.

Alana completed her graduation from Los Angeles Country High School for the Arts in 2010. She also went to Los Angeles Valley College for a short period and dropped out the college to focus on her music career. She had two elder sisters, Este, born in 1986, and Danielle in 1989, and they all own a band name, Haim. All three sisters were raised in a musical family in San Fernando Valley, where their parents taught them several musical instruments. Alana has chosen percussion at the early age of four, and now she is practicing piano, guitar, and vocals. Her family made a band named Rockinhaim, and in 2000, they performed at their first-ever concert in Los Angeles. Later, they started performing frequently in the next decade.

Alana and her sisters made the band Haim in the year 2007 and appeared in many music festivals since then. In 2012, her band signed with an entertainment agency, Roc Nation, founded by Jay-Z, a famous American rapper. Later in 2012, the band Haim signed up with Columbia Records and became a feature at Jay-z's two days music festival - Made in America. Alana's band released its first album in September 2013, Days Are Gone, which was an absolute hit. Something To Tell You was their second album, aired in 2017, and Women in Music was their third album in 2020. The third album got nominated at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards for the Album of the Year Award. Alana Haim also gave many single superhit tracks like The Steps.

Her role in the movie was very prominent, which gave her nominations for the Golden Globes Award for Best Actress, BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actress, and many more awards for the best actress. Her third music album, Women in Music, and the movie Licorice Pizza were the most renowned projects that gained her several awards at the international level. Since 2012, she has been very active in the music industry, performing Indie Rock, Folk Rock, and Pop Rock genres of music, either solo or with her band. Alana Haim and her sisters Este and Danielle are now renowned music artists worldwide who performed in a number of concerts at many places.
