Maggie Ballard

Maggie Ballard is an assistant director who has worked predominantly in English movies. A resident of Hoover, she graduated from high school in Hoover in 2008. Maggie belongs to a family of people linked to the entertainment industry in some way or the other as actors both on screen and on the stage.

She too wished to become an actor when she grew up and follow the path trodden by her family members. The most important point in her life was when she worked as an intern with a casting director. It was during that internship that she realized her love for direction and production.

Post this experience; she began working as a production assistant for movies and advertisement commercials in and around Alabama. Starting in the year 2012, she has also worked as a second assistant and second-second assistant director and worked in about 22 feature films, the number of which continues to increase. Her film career includes Get Out, her recent project, a thriller, which she got into as she was well acquainted with the film’s unit production manager.

The movie received a nomination for four awards in the Academy Awards including, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture. It was nominated in the Oscars, Golden Globes and garnered immense recognition. She is working on the film Into the Ashes, in Birmingham currently. She was part of Lifted as a production assistant in 2010. In 2012 she worked in a Television movie documentary, Slavery by Another Name, as a wardrobe assistant.

She was also the production assistant for nine episodes of the TV series called The Amandas in 2012. She worked as the script supervisor in Freshwater, the set production assistant in Hush, the base camp production assistant in Before I Wake Up and USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage, all in the year 2016.

In the role of an assistant director, she worked in Tokarev and Finding Harmony in 2014, Vice, Heist, and Extraction in 2015, Hush, Before I Wake Up, The Perfect Weapon, Sasq- Watch and Almost Friends in the year 2016. 2017 saw the projects Southern Fury, Get Out, Camp Cool Kids, Geralds Game, Let There Be Light while 2018 was the year of Bigger and Moose. She also worked as an Actor in Lifted and Lost In Reality.
