Born on December 30, 1979, in Peace River, Alberta, Canada, Harris grew up in the beautiful valley while developing an interest in design and creativity. Later she relocated to Kelowna, British Columbia, where she pursued her higher studies at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Jillian got engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Justin Pasutto, in 2016, and has two children, a boy named Leo George and a girl, Annie.

Harris forayed into interior designing while working with an interior goods store Caban. Her knowledge from that job helped her secure a job with Scott Morrisson, co-founder of Cactus Club Café, who hired her to design restaurants. Later, when she pursued the interior designing course at The British Columbia Institute, she was re-hired by him to design the restaurants of his new chain, Browns Socialhouse.

Harris participated in the thirteenth season of The Bachelor in 2009. The hostess contested with twenty-four other participants and ended up in the third position. After that, the same year Jillian was chosen as the first Canadian to feature in The Bachelorette Season 5, where she declared Ed Swiderski the winner.

In 2010, she featured as a designer on the American reality show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, telecast on ABC. The following year she starred in the series Calgary Home + Design Show and the Canadian television series Canada’s Handyman Challenge.

Later, Harris featured in the home design reality show Love It or List It Vancouver, where she competed against co-host Todd Talbot. In the show, her focus, along with her design team, is to re-ignite in her clients the love for their homes.

In 2013, she began her website Charlie Ford Vintage, since she already owned a brand of interior decor products. However, she wound up the business the following year. In 2016, she made a guest appearance on The Bachelorette Canada.

The designer is also known for the documentary series Jillian and Justin, where she features along with her partner Justin Pasutto in 2017 on W Network in Canada. Her other television credits include the series Entertainment Tonight, Game of Homes, HGTV Insider, and Extra With Billy Bush.

The designer-cum-television presenter owns a firm Jillian Harris Design, for which she shuttles from the U.S. to Canada.
