Patrick Dempsey took birth on January 13, 1966, in Lewiston, Maine. He is a race car driver and an actor by profession. Patrick grew up in towns of Buckfield and Turner along with his two sisters. He did his high schooling from Dominic Regional High School and Buckfield High School. Unfortunately, it was discovered that Dempsey was suffering from dyslexia, and it got diagnosed when he was twelve years old. Instead of being bitter about it, he told in an interview that it was this disease that helped him reach where he is now. Patrick caught the eye for the first time when he received an invitation for a stage role in Torch Song Trilogy. The audition was successful, and he got called for touring with the company for four months in Philadelphia. Next, he joined the tour of Brighton Beach Memoirs. His first and foremost important role was in the movie In the Mood at the age of 21. In 1987, he starred in the Meatballs III: Summer Job and Can’t Buy Me Love. Patrick grabbed the lead role in the movie Loverboy and Happy Together.

In the year 1990, he featured on many television programs including The Player, About a Boy, and Once& Again. For his role in Once & Again, he got nominated for the Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor. He portrayed the role of John F. Kennedy in JFK: Reckless Youth, a television mini-series. Patrick was also a part of a Disney movie, Enchanted and gave his voice in Brother Bear 2. His recent appearance was in movie Valentine’s Day, a romantic comedy and Wonderful Tonight. In 2009, Universal Pictures bought the rights to the novel The Art of Racing in the Rain and Dempsey was all set to star in it, but unfortunately, the movie was not able to get a director. His most notable and appreciated role was in the sitcom Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Derek Shepherd. Before he got this role, he auditioned for a role in the sitcom House. He featured in all the twelve seasons of the sitcom. Dempsey’s outstanding performance earned him a nomination at the Golden Globe Awards in the category of Best Performance by an actor. He was ranked TV’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2011 by Buddy TV.

After the show had ended he told the media that he would like to take a year off and develop. He further made it clear that it would be wonderful if he ever got a chance to become a director. Dempsey was a popular name in the brand world also. He has endorsed brands like Versace, L’Oreal, and features in an Austria-based eyewear brand, Silhouette. In 2008, Dempsey launched his perfume brand named Unscripted and after its success another perfume after his name hit the market. He also has his collections of cars and enjoys racing in his free time and also announced that he would love to compete in the game. He also mentioned in an interview that he could not imagine not racing and added that it kept him motivated. Dempsey’s love for auto racing persuaded him to take part in 24 Hours of Le Mans where he finished in ninth place, Rolex 24 at Daytona sports car race grabbing third place in it and Baja 1000 off-road race and. Currently, he owns Dempsey Racing and had been a co-owner of the Vision Racing IndyCar Series team. Dempsey also owns a coffee company named Global Baristas and in the year 2013, it purchased a Seattle-based coffee company Tully’s Coffee. Global Baristas controls all the 47 branches of Tully’s Coffee. After some legal dispute and issues, Dempsey left all his managerial posts with the Tully’s. Dempsey’s mother died in 1997 because of ovarian cancer, and this compelled him to open a medical center. He then introduced an event from which he was able to collect more than $1 million dollars for the cancer centre.
