Amrapali Ambegaokar’s full name is Amrapali Jagadish Ambegaokar. She is an American actress, choreographer, performing artist, and dancer. She was born on April 18, 1978. Amrapali Ambegaokar’s place of birth is Chicago, Illinois, United States. She was raised in an artist family in culturally diverse sunny Los Angeles. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (B.A) with honors in World Arts and Cultures/ Dance at the University of California, Los Angeles. She was Drum Major at Diamond Bar High School in her junior and senior year. She is fluent in the French, Marathi, Hindi, and Gujarati languages. She grew up playing classical music, dancing, costume design, writing poetry, and painting in the watercolour and acrylic medium. She won first place for her watercolor creation in California from NASA.

Amrapali Ambegaokar portrayed the role of Intern Dani on Grey’s anatomy with Patrick Demsey. She was featured as a dancer in Cirque Du Soleil’s Dralion in over 750 shows in fourteen US cities. As an American actress, she played the recurring roles on 18 episodes in ABC’s scandal seasons of 4, 5, 6, and 7. Also, she played the guest starring roles in 19 episodes of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy on NBC’s Heroes and roles on Shameless, The Mindy Project, The Exes, Key & Peele, Mistresses, Chasing Life, Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, and ER in television. She portrayed Dani Mandvi in season 4, 5, and 6 of Grey’s Anatomy. She left her position in Cirque Du Soleil as Principal Dancer for over 2 years, so that she could fulfil her ‘secret’ childhood dream of acting with the motive of expanding her artistic career from the live stage to the additional medium of television and film.

 Amrapali Ambegaokar is an International Master of Kathak. As a guest, she performed on season 5 of Fox’s So You think You Can Dance, and she has won the coveted Solo Silver Medal out of 16 professional soloists in the international hit show NBC’s Superstars of Dance produced by Mastermind Producer and director Nigel Lithgoe. She has been the Principal dancer of Anjani Dance Theatre with highlights, including Ravinia Festival Chicago, The Hollywood bowl, United Nations D.C, World Music Institute NY, and many more. She has won several awards and accolades since childhood. Her special honours include Celebrity Queen Azalea of the 62nd Azalea Festival and the U.S.

National Judge for Sony TV’s Boogie Woogie Dance competition, The Music Center Spotlight Award, Celebrity Judge for the Miss Asian America Pageant, and so more. Also, she has received the National FIA Award in the category of performing Arts 2015. She is a pageant title holder as Miss Asian California, Miss Asian America Talent, Miss India North America Talent, Miss India USA Talent, and Miss India North America Princess. Therefore, her choreography credits include pageants, live stage, music videos, commercials, and film & television.
