Debra Winger is a famous American actress. She is better known by her family name Debra Lynn Winger. She was born on May 16, 1955, into an Orthodox Jewish family to Robert Winger and Ruth (Felder). Her place of birth is Cleveland Heights, Ohio, United States of America. Her father was a meatpacker, and her mother was an office manager. Her maternal grandparents used to call her Mary lovingly. Debra Winger has a sister named Maria and a brother named Marc. She completed her schooling at James Monroe High School and later graduated from the California State University, Northridge. When Debra Winger was 18 years of age, she had a car accident, suffered a cerebral haemorrhage, and as a result, she was left partially paralyzed and blind for ten long months.

After her recovery, she started studying acting.
