Gerda Stevenson

Gerda Stevenson was born on 1st January, 1959. She was a lead actress. Her parents were musicians and composers. She married the Scottish poet named Aonghas MacNeacail. She was a Scottish lead, and narrator. She played many roles in theatre and also a title role in an Edwin Morgan production. Besides that, she has appeared in many television shows. She played the role of a mother for the film, ‘Braveheart’, and her voice is popularized through her story reading activities on the British radio. She has performed several poems and songs by Robert Burns. She had done lot of work in her career and is also a radio artist .This includes “Self Control”, where she played the role of Laura. Next to that she starred in “For the Love of Willie”, in which her character is named Liza. Next is “The Heart of Midlothian”, which was an award nominated movie. Besides acting, she had written many plays for the radio, some of which are “The Escorts Tale” and,"The Apple Tale”.

She started her career by the year 1982 and continued till 2011. Her first radio show was “The Bride of Lammermoor”, which was broadcasted on BBC radio. Thereafter, numerous shows of her were broadcasted on BBC’s radio, and they made her popular amongst the people.
