Mike Tyson’s real name is Michael Gerard Tyson. He is an American boxer by profession. He remained active in rings from 1985 to 2005. He got married thrice. His first wife was Robin Givens from 1988 to 1989, the second was Monica Turner from 1997 to 2003, and then Lakiha Kiki Spicer from 2009 onwards. He is the younger brother Rodney. He also had an elder sister Denise who unfortunately died at a very young age of 24 years, in February 1990 due to a heart attack. His biological father was Purcell, but he had always known Jimmy Kirkpatrick, who belonged to Grier Town, North Carolina, as his father.

After the birth of Tyson, Jimmy left his mother, and he later died in 1992. When he was only 16 years old, he lost his mother. She left him with a manager of boxing and a trainer by profession, named Cus D’Amato who took care for him after her. His childhood was spent in the environment of criminals as his neighbors. He was arrested many times for committing various crimes repeatedly. Until he reached the age of 13, he was already arrested 38 times. At last, he got admission in a boys school named Tryson School situated in Johnstown, New York. A man named Bobby Stewart (a boxer and a counselor) was the one who discovered his boxing skills.

He gave him proper training for months and then introduced him to Cus D’Amato. He became a dropout at High School level as a junior. Afterward, he was awarded by Central State University with the honorary award for “Doctorate in Human Letters” in 1989. He made his debut into his profession on 6 March 1985 when he was 18 years of age. At a place called Albany in New York, he fought with the boxer named Hector Mercedes and defeated him in the first round only. He was held by police for the charge of raping an 18 years old woman named Desiree Washington in July 1991. He spent six years in prison and then four years of probation. He won many awards and honors for boxing such as Ring Magazine Prospect of the year in 1985, BBC Sports Personality of the Year Overseas Personality in 1989 and many more.
