Karla Mosley

She has completed her education from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and then she moved to France for her further study at the Roy Hart Vocal Institute. When she was young, Mosley performed in Sugar Beats, a children's rock group formed by Sherry Goffin Kondor. Mosley sang hits such as Rockin' Robin. In 2003, while being in college, Mosley joined the American counterpart of the Australian children's TV show Hi-5; her segment was called "Body Move", where she led viewers in stretching and exercising and she also provided the voice of Chatterbox on the show.

From 2008 to 2009, she acted in the daytime soap opera, Guiding Light, playing the role of Christina Boudreau, a pre-medical student. And in 2013, she joined the cast group of The Bold and the Beautiful, playing ex-con turned actress Maya Avant but in 2019, she took off-contract from The Bold and the Beautiful. She even completed a web series named Room 8 with her co-star Lawrence Saint-Victor of The Bold And Beautiful. Her character was later revealed to be a transgender woman and she became the first transgender bride to be married on daytime television in 2015. She got 3 GLAAD Awards on behalf of the show for the story. In 2016, she and her business partner Tina Huang created 1:1 Productions, is a film, TV and digital production company.

The main mission of the production is to champion women of color in front of and behind the camera. In her private life, Mosley has been married to lawyer and civil rights advocate Jeremiah Frei-Pearson since 2011. Mosley serves as a board member of Covenant House, a significant privately-funded agency in America, providing shelters and other services to homeless, runaway youth. She is the celebrity ambassador for an American Non-Profit Organization named as the National Eating Disorders Association. She is also an active participant in other charities as well.
