Marcia Cross

Marcia Cross is an American actress. She has worked mainly on television. Marcia was born on 25 March 1962 in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She is of Irish and English descent. She was born to Mark Cross and Janet. Her mother was a teacher and father was a personal manager by profession. Marcia did her schooling from Marlborough High School. She got graduated from the same in 1980, after which she received a scholarship to Juilliard. She did B.F.A in Acting there and graduated in 1984. She again returned to school in 1997 for earning a Master’s in Psychology. She started getting many offers in television movie The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James which had co- starred Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash. In 1986, Cross joined the sitcom One Life To Live aired on ABC, she portrayed Kate Sander’s role, till the year 1987. She was also seen in some soaps as a guest appearance namely Cheers, Who's the Boss?, Knots Landing and Quantum Leap. She appeared on episodes of Seinfeld, Ally McBeal, Boy Meets World, The King of Queens and Spin City. She also did some movies independently Bad Influence in 1990, Always Say Goodbye in 1996, Just Peck in 2009 and Bringing Up Bobby in 2011.

In the year 2004, Cross won a role in Desperate Housewives as the role of Bree Van de Kamp. This show was a breakthrough hit which won Cross many awards and nominations. She was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards, an Emmy Award and also five Screen Actors Guild Awards out of which they won two. She won a Satellite Award in the show’s second season. The show ran for eight seasons in total. It got concluded in the year 2012. Cross married Tom Mahoney, a stockbroker in 2006. She has twins Savannah and Eden born in 2007.
