Dennis Haley

Dennis Haley is a writer from Northern California. He is also a house sitter or pet keeper at House Sitting Worldwide TrustedHousesitters.com in Europe, and North America since August 2015. He is an adventurous person, and he wishes to go all over the world. He is a practical person who wants to get the most from his efforts & interests. So he combined traveling & writing into a set of twins who are everywhere with him. He finished his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English at Wright State University, Germany (1970 – 1974). He had also two years of German language courses. Later, he studied computer programs, web design, and publications at Butte Community College. He is fluent in English, German, and Greek, Ancient (to 1453) languages. 

Dennis Haley has been interested in graphic arts and photography since he was a kid. So he followed all the paths that let him learn about them. He worked in the graphics department as a student worker, and then in the media services division that handled equipment & the classes about the processes. After college, he found work in a print shop and showed students how to make a yearbook. He was a media production assistant in the Media Production Lab at Wright State University (Jun 1970 – Aug 1974). At the Neighbourhood Church of Chico, California, Dennis Haley has worked as a photographer, editor reporter, puppet theater director, media director, and student yearbook advisor for five years (Jun 1975 – Jun 1980).

He took over the church newsletter and expanded its coverage to 8-10 pages per month. He organized articles from contributing writers to put in the publication and edited the copy & graphics. He taught in the church Sunday service classes for children & directed many children’s musicals. He was the media director for a multi-million dollar building project that ended up in the construction of a geodesic dome being built for future church needs. He directed one of two children’s puppet theatre productions that spanned three years. 

Dennis Haley then worked as a graphic artist or photographer at Dennis Haley Graphics for eight years (Jul 1980 – March 1989). He owned & operated a product photography & print layout business. He was a member of the Superior California Club of Printing House Craftsmen. Later, he worked as a Garment Industry worker at Koret of California in Chico for twelve years (Apr 1989 – Jun 2001). He worked with multi-ethnic co-workers in a shipping & receiving environment. He then worked as a shelter monitor at Chico Community Shelter Partnership in Chico for seven months (Sep 2001 – Mar 2002).

He was a substitute teacher for County and Special education programs for the Glenn County Office of Education for over two years (Sep 2001 – May 2004). He worked as a Data-entry specialist & layout artist at Travidia, Inc. in Chico for over two years (May 2004 – Dec 2006). Later, he engaged as a teacher's aide/ paraprofessional special education at Chico Unified School District in Chico for over two years (Mar 2012 – Dec 2013). Dennis Haley has been working as a writer or novelist in Chico since Jul 2004. He has also working as a content developer, researcher, and strategist since Aug 2004. He developed a Victorian novel based on English history in the Victorian Era.
