Vijaylaxmi

Chef Master Vijaylaxmi is one of the contestants who qualified for the top 5 of Master Chef Season 2. She has started her career as a cook at a diplomat's house, but later on, she moved to a real estate company as they offered her better pay. She had been working there for 10 years but every day she used to gain more and more interest in cooking delicious food and a time came when her daughter was watching Masterchef Season and she insisted her to give a shot in that show thinking that she might get a breakthrough by such reality shows.

But that wasn't so easy for her, nearly 3500 people around various places appeared for the same. And among them, just 50 were to be selected for the first round and she was one among them. After being selected she was called to Mumbai as she made her mark on the show and was finally selected in the top 10 candidates. She says that she wasn't well-versed with every theoretical aspect about many cuisines but her practical knowledge far exceeded others. And she is thankful enough to her father in law who taught her various basic things while she cooked. She had the advantage of knowing the cuisines from different regions as her parents were from South India, but she grew up in Delhi. She is a gym freaking personality and she likes to be fit and healthy as she is very health conscious.

When asked by an interviewer whether home cooking is different from professional cooking, she straightforwardly said that they both are completely different things. At times she received help from her friends during the show and that helped her to learn new things. But when she faced the camera for the first time she was confident enough to show her best. She always received help from her father-in-law even at times when she was alone and being a single parent is never easy for anyone. She doesn't want to discuss her past life but at present, she is happy to have a career like this and a loving in-laws who are always there to help her.
