Ratan Kumar was the screen name of Indian-born Child Artist Syed Nazir Ali Rizvi, who later migrated to Pakistan. Ratan Kumar was born on 19 March 1941 in Ajmer, Rajputana, British India. He was one of the most successful and famous Child Artists of the 1950s. His career started as an artist in the movie Bajju Bawra, where he played the role of a child named Chote Baiju. His Best-Known Hindi Films are Do Bigha Zamin, Boot Polish, and Jagriti. His other Hindi films were Angarey, Bahut Din Huwe, Sargam, and Afsana. He migrated to Pakistan with his family in 1956, where he started his film career in the Pakistani Film Industry. His first Pakistani film as a child artist was Masoom.

He also made the remake of the Hindi movie Jagriti with the name Bedari. His first ever movie as a Lead actor was Nagin, which became a Golden Jubilee film at the box office. His other Pakistani films were Clerk, Aladdin ka Beta, Do Ustaad, Sher-e-Islam, Taj aur Talwar, Aasra, and Dastaan. After his long-lasting film career, Ratan Kumar started his business of selling oriental carpets and eventually settled down permanently in the United States in 1980. And as everything has to come to an end, we lost this Great and Talented soul on 12 December 2016 in California.
