Ravi Meet, born Ravi Shankar Sharma, is a music director and composer in the Indian Film Industry. He was born on March 3, 1926, in Old Delhi, to Pt. Kanhaiyalal Sharma and Taravati Sharma. He was married to Kanti and had one child named Veena. In his career, spanning almost three decades, he is best known for his memorable songs in movies like Mile Hai Aap Jab Se Zindagi Kitni Suhani Hai, Door Ki Awaaz, Dharkan, Narsi Bhagat, Ek Saal, Dhund, Aadmi aur Insaan, Nikkah, Chanda Mama Dur Ke, etc. He has had an immense interest in songs since the early years of his life. He was the only person in his family who was passionate about music.

He used to hear his favorite bhajan, Tum Bin Hamri Kaun Khabar Le, from Sohrab Modi’s Pukar. He used to work at a Delhi cloth mill but shifted to Panthankot in the 1950s and worked with the Post and Telegraph. But he never took the time to explore and learn about songs. He got an opportunity to shift to Bombay on April 24, 1950. He continued his dream of singing alongside his electrical job. Driven by an endless passion for singing, he sang in S. D. While working for Kumar, he also got the opportunity to make music for the movie Vachan. He started composing music for a number of Devendra Goel’s films, which include Aadmi Sadak Ka, Chirag Kaha, Roshni Kaha, etc. He made music for almost 21 films in the 1950s and 1960s. He died on March 7 in Mumbai. Without him, the music industry is incomplete. He is the only singer who has touched the hearts of many with his exclusive creations.
