She studied at Mithibai College in Vile Parle, Mumbai where she was crowned as the Miss Mithibai College in 1990. She initiated her career into Marathi films and gained her popularity through the 1991 blockbuster film, Maherchi Sadi and Wajva Re Wajva. She received praises and recognitions after doing stage plays like the Hindi play, Aadhe Adhure and the Marathi play, Moruchi Mauchi.

Kishori Shahane Vij is an Indian Marathi Film actress and classical and folk dancer. She is also a producer and an assistant director. She is a beautiful and smart actress who can bring any character to life. Kishori was born in Maharashtra. She went to Mithibai College. She started her career as a young model. Even at her college, she was crowned as the Miss Mithibai title at the cultural festival of the college. She started her acting career in the year 1991 with the movie Maherchi Sadi and Wajva Re Wajva. She used to do stage plays. Some of her famous stage performances includs Moruchi Moushi and Aadhe Adhure. Moruchi Moushi was a Marathi Stage show, and Aadhe Adhure was a Hindi stage show. Her performance in the both the shows was remarkable. Her achievements in stage shows took her to the big screen. Later, she got to work in some Marathi movies likeNavra Majha Navsacha and Ek Daav Dhabi Pachad. Both the movie turned out to be blockbusters on the Marathi cinema. She was also offered roles in many Hindi movies like.

She worked with many Hindi directors on various projects like Red: The Dark Side and Pyaar Mein Twist. Both these movies were directed by the famous Hindi movie director, Vikram Bhatt. Deepak Balraj Vij recognized her talent and offered her to work in some his movies. They did many movies together namely Bomb Blast, Hafta Band, Shirdi Sai Baba and many more. Later they got married to each other. After that, Kishori didn’t appear on the big screen for some time, but she did appear in TV series and some Marathi movies. She did many TV serials like Sindoor, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, and Ghar Ek Mandir. After getting married to Deepak, they both did a movie name Shirdi Sai Baba. The movie was a great success. Later, Kishori stated her career as a filmmaker and producer. In 2007, she even won the Maharastra State Award for the movie Mohatyachi Renuka for best editing. Kishori produced and directed the movie. Later, she made another movie with her husband name Malik Ek, starring Jackie Shroff. The movie didn’t do well at the Box-Office.
