Bhal Singh Balhara was born in August 1956 in Kiloharad, Sonepat, Haryana. His father is Ch. Ishw Bhal Singh. He completed his college education at D.A.V. College, Chandigarh, and furthered to Kurukshetra University, where he studied law. After getting his L.L.B. degree, Bhal Singh was called to bar, and he practiced for a while as a lawyer in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. But he left his work as a lawyer and ventured into movie. When he was approached by a famous Music Director, Sh. J.P. Kaushik to sing in his film in Bombay as a playback singer. After taking up the opportunity, he became the most popular Haryanvi Singer ever, not just that, he also became an actor in the very first film he sang in.

Bhal Singh also became the first actor and singer of Haryanvi Films. His song for the film (Bahurani) became popular. After his success in another Haryanvi film titled Chandrawal, which put him to the peak at Haryanvi films, thus making him famous. He ventured into film production, starting his production house, he produced his first film Chhail Gailyaan Jaangi. he played a lead role in the romantic love story, which came out a big hit of the year. Even when he majorly focused on film productions, he was still preferred by most directors to take the lead role in their movies. As an actor and producer, Bhal Singh Balhara accepted few movie roles he was very picky with the scripts of the films. But he had no restriction about singing. Bhal Singh got credits for his numerous songs in Haryanvi films as a playback singer. Not restricting himself merely to Haryanvi films, he also sang in a few Hindi movies.

In one of the Hindi movie titled (Adhoora Milan), Bhal Singh got the chance to sing with the famous singer Sh. Mahendra Kapoor Mahendra Kapoor was a playback singer in 1960’s, a >> Read More... . He also sang in the famous Punjabi film Putt Jattan De. In this film he sang a song for Sh. Dharmendra (He-Man of Hindi Films). He also wrote the scripts of the scenes pictured Sh.Dharmendra in the film. To date Bhal Singh has acted as a lead actor in many Haryanvi Films such as Chhail Gailyan Jangi, Mhari Dharti Mhari Maa, Bairi, etc, and he also acted in a Hindi Feature Film titled Laagi Chhutte Naa. He also directed the movie Tera Mera Vaada. Bhal Singh released his first Haryanvi Album titled (Jaat Beqabu Ho Gaya).

Aside from the entertainment industry, Bhal Singh is working at the Department of Information Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Haryana. as the Adviser Project in Films. Bhal Singh Balhara released his Haryanvi Pop Album Titled Chhora Jaat Ka In 2009. Some of Bhal’s hit songs are Aarae Mele Mein Ek Chori, Bhagwan Krishan Murari, Chora Jat Ka, Gaade Aali Gajban Chori, Gajban Chori Ras Ki Pori, Ke Sochae Aur Ke Banjya, Mere Dil Pe Likh Diya Naam, Meri Rajbala Aaja, and Nain Katore Kajal Dore.
