Sanil Gosavi

Sanil Gosavi is an Indian filmmaker, YouTuber, reviewer, and model. Sanil Gosavi primarily works in Bollywood and has created nationally acclaimed short films. Born on June 17, Sanil Gosavi comes from a family of entrepreneurs. Ever since he was a kid, he preferred watching movies and gradually developed an interest in filmmaking. After completing schooling, Sanil did his Bachelor’s in Mass Media, Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management from Lala Lajpat Rai College of Commerce, Mumbai, in 2012. Sanil Gosavi took his first step in realizing his passion for movies when he was 16. He shot his first short film with the help of a handy cam. He started his career as a PR intern. In 2012, he took part in Bombay Times Clean and Clear Fresh Face and ended up as the Runner Up. Later, for a brief time, he worked as a celebrity manager for BBC Entertainment. In the year 2013, Sanil worked in the dance reality television show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 6. After graduating from college in 2014, he joined the YouTube channel The Review Jockey, where he reviews the newly released movies. Soon the channel’s subscriber’s count kept increasing. He has reviewed more than a hundred films during his four years in The Review Jockey. He left the YouTube channel in 2018 as he got busy with his filmmaking projects.

Sanil Gosavi worked as an assistant director for Eros International Media for a year. Later, he joined the T series Production Company and worked as a production assistant for films like Tumhari Sulu. Sanil started making short films in 2011 when it was not a prominent medium. He was a trendsetter and made many thought-provoking short films in the topics that were barely discussed before. His first short film, Poverty in India, was written, directed, and acted by him in 2011. He released the short film under his own production company, RP Productions. His other short films are NUBDAH, The Abnormal, and Blindfold. In 2017, he made the short film My 5 minutes with God, which was critically acclaimed and received tremendous praise. His next short film, My Mother’s wedding, was released in 2018. The story of the film revolves around Parinaaz and depicts the beautiful relationship she shares with her son. The short film created a storm on the internet and won accolades at several short film festivals. In 2019, the actor cum director started his YouTube channel in the name Sanil Reviews Everything, where he gives reviews about not just movies but also politics, current affairs, and gadgets. His YouTube game is also going strong. He co-founded Pause Media Collective, a media conglomerate, in 2020 in which he produced television commercials, short films, web series, and many more. Sanil Gosavi’s journey in the cinema industry for the past ten years is full of trials. His struggle to grab a position in the industry might differ from others. But what remains unchanged is his passion for filmmaking.
