Shanawaz Nellikunnil

Shanawaz Nellikunnil is an experienced film director. He is a firm believer in expressing creativity by bringing together different human experiences into a film that is believable, realistic, connects with the people, and is highly fascinating, which viewers would always love to view several times. Shanawaz has always been a keen observer of human interaction which honed his ability to extract the essence of character and scenes to make them relatable to viewers. Shanawaz earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from 2004 to 2007 at the SDM College of Business Management Post Graduate Centre for Management Studies and Research. He followed his passion, which is directing.

He directed an Ad film for Zomato Everday Production house in Chai Khari films. In 2015, he became the film director for 23 Entertainment in Mumbai Area, India. Shanawaz loves colours and pictures that relate to art or music and reflects the difficulty of the everyday ordinary man in society. His first short movie titled 405 was inspired by a graphic novel that was simply a montage of the day in the life of an unnamed man, tackling subjects like freedom, love, and loneliness. It is shown on Mubi. He has also done feature films for Candyflip production which is now showing on Netflix.
