Somnath Awghade is a child actor. He became famous for his role in Marathi movie Fandry. The movie was directed by Nagaraj Manjule. Somnath Avghade received the National Award for Best child actor for his spectacular performance in the movie. Somnath was born in Kemp village of Solapur, in Maharashtra, India. His father is Lakshmana and mother is Jayashree. He has an elder brother named Ravi and a sister named Ambika. He did his schooling in Kem’s rajabhau Vidyalaya Kendra. At an award function, Nagaraj saw Somnath playing a music instrument, and then he decided to cast him for the role in movie Fandry. He refers to Nagaraj as Anna kaka. Initially, Somnath was afraid of acting, and he used to hide under the water tank of his village. Nagaraj and his team convinced him to play the role.
