Murari Lal Sharma is an Indian Author and poet. He is popularly known as ‘Neeras,’ which is his pen name. He was born on 19 September 1936 in a village named Koka in the Rohtak district of Haryana. He is an alumnus of Ahir College Rewari. Due to his interest in Ayurveda Medical Science, he has obtained a degree in Ayurveda Ratan. He was employed as a special Grade Teacher with the Delhi Government until his retirement in 1995. Dr. Murari Lal Sharma has written several poems and has also authored a number of books. Sharma’s works include both original and translations of various religious texts. Among his famous books is ‘Neeras Ki Shri Durga Upasana’; it is a translation of the Hindu holy book ‘Shri Durga Saptshati’.
Similarly, ‘Neeras Ki Shree Geeta’; is a translation of the Hindu holy book ‘Shreemad Bhagwad Geeta’. His poetry works include O Deepak Tum Jalte Rehna, Desh Ko Naveen Tyag Chahiye, Mujhko Chokers Kya Payoge Batla Do Na, Bas Yahi Tak Payar Seemit Bas Yahi Tak Thi Kahani, and many more. He also authored several children’s book, producing both original poetry, and translation of English stories and poems. He translated The ‘Camel’s Nose in Tent’ as ‘Arab Aur Uska Oonth’ in Hindi. His other works include Mor, Pyassa Kova, Prarthana and Adhyapak Ka Sammaan Karo.
