Megha Sriram is a famous Indian folk singer. Her complete name is Megha Sriram Dalton Sriram Dalton is a Director, Producer, Editor-in-C >> Read More... . Her birthplace and hometown is Daltonganj, Jharkhand, India. She was so attached to her place that she added Dalton to her name after the name of Daltonganj. She completed her primary schooling at a local school in Daltonganj. During her childhood, she was not oriented towards music, but her mother wanted Megha to become a singer. So, she started singing at the age of 11.

Her teacher also encouraged her to sing along with the studies. When she was 13, she learned music from Ustad Amjad Ali. Unfortunately, she failed in 12th. Then, she chose a carrier in music and started gaining more skills. She completed her B. Music graduation from a well-known university, BHU, Varanasi. There, she got involved in theatres but she did not lose her hope to get better opportunities to sing. Her husband told her about this course. Megha usually sang Shiv Bhajans and Shlokas for a local music label to earn money.

After completing graduation, she took part in numerous Hindi theatres and then, worked in almost ten plays. She entered the Bollywood industry in 2007 with a Bangla Khula Khula remix song from an Anwar movie. She married Sriram Dalton, who is a great filmmaker from Jharkhand. She has promoted folk music in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. So, she got a scholarship from H.R.D. Ministry of India. In 2016, she sang for another Bollywood movie, The Girl in Yellow Boots. Megha came into the limelight after working in the Bollywood movie Shivaay (2016). She sung many Bhojpuri folk songs. In 2011, she has also worked as a music composer for a short film, OP- Stop Smelling Your Socks, which was directed by her husband. She is not only famous in Jharkhand, but also in the whole nation for her folk singing skills. Some of her famous songs are Aaditi Dev, Ke Hukam Diya, Aa Ra Ra Ra, Dheere Dheere, Najar Barchi, Mein Beti Hoon Koi Bojh Nahi, and many more. She worked with passion for folk songs and made people aware of extincting folk cultures.
