Sawani Mudgal

Sawani Mudgal is a young Hindustani classical vocalist, and her father, pt Madhup Mudgal is a vocalist and a teacher at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Delhi. Her grandfather, pt Vinaya Chandra Maudgalya, is the founder of a Musical school Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Sawani was trained by her father, during her training at Khairagarh university, she won a gold medal in M. A. music and also passed the Alankar Pratham exam in Hindustani classical Music from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya music school. Her skill has allowed her to travel around the globe and has given her the privilege to mingle and work with talents across the world, As a soloist, she has performed with international artists from different music genres. She performed in the music festival and dance, at Ravi Shankar Center, Delhi, under the Banyan tree on a full moon night, in Delhi, at the Uttaradhikar festival, by the Raza Foundation, Delhi, a musical evening in Madrid, and at Spain, Milap fests music festival in Liverpool, and the UK, among others.

Sawani worked with Carlos Saura, the famous filmmaker from Spain, on the Flamenco-India project, a project with the Belgian band, Ragini-Trio, the Indo-Brazilian project called Samwaad in Brazil, France, and Holland and a special performance with the talented pianist Anil Srinivasan Anil Srinivasan is a pianist from India. She has also performed at festivals in France, Belgium, USA, Greece, UK, Fez Festival in Morocco, and others. Not only that, but she made an exceptional performance in Bhutan to celebrate 50 years of Indo-Bhutanese friendship. Likewise, she also runs music studios in India and abroad. Sawani worked as a teacher in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi. She directs the Gandharva Baal Vrind -Children’s choir at the institution. Sawan uses her talent to promote Indian Music, both at home and abroad.

She is recognized, for her albums khayal and bhajan Gayan. Her songs are Laa lam laal, Nayan Atkal Lamar, Sadho, Aisa Re Piya, Vaishnav Jan too, koi kahiyo Re, and her top albums are Premak Basaat, Taanashah, kaagaz, transparency, and best of Bhojpur.
