Urmila Dhangar is a well-known Marathi singer and music composer. Coming from modest origins, Urmila was raised in the slums of Ulhasnagar. Despite her humble beginnings, she always had the mindset of making it big and leaving a mark on the world through her melodious voice. To pursue her dreams, Urmila moved to Badlpaur, where she was able to complete her MA in literature. Urmila is a passionate music enthusiast who fell in love with the art of music at an early age. Her classical singing studies began in 2003 with Pandit Achyut Joshi, and it took her four years to get the title "Sangit Visharad”. She displayed her talent through several music competitions at an interschool and intercollege level.

The world was quick to realize the potential she possessed. As a result of her harmonic flair, she was blessed with the opportunity of taking up the role of a playback singer in the title song of Zee Marathi’s Tv serial “Bhagyalaxmi.” However, fame came to her through Zee Marathi’s TV show - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Being a perpetual contestant and standout performer in several episodes, she was pronounced the outright winner bagging the title of “Maharastrachi Mehagayika” in the 2010 season. Urmila has 125 songs attached to her name, with the most well-known one being “Mala jau de” from the 2012 movie “Ferrari Ki Savari.”Furthermore, her song “Gulabchi Kali” from “Tu Hi Re” also achieved great success and admiration.

As an independent musician, Urmila has produced several solo hits and albums through which she has been able to draw a massive fan following on various streaming platforms such as Spotify. Although she reached the peak of her career in the 2010s, Urmila has left a trail for many aspiring musicians to follow, and to this day, her music continues to live in the heart of her listeners.
