Anuj Mathur is a legendary sound designer of films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kal Ho Na Ho Mohabbatien to name just a few. One of Anuj Mathur’s many theories is that sound mixing is at its best to isolate and emphasise the specific sounds if you want the audience to experience, rather than blasting everything at once. He joined the Yash Raj Films a two decades back almost with Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge when he was a sound designer, and now he is chief recording engineer with Yash Raj Films.
Today as a chief recording engineer, he has to perform many jobs such as re-recording mixer, supervising sound editor and designer and dialogue supervisor also. His brilliant sound engineer who goes to show that it takes the whole team of people to record, edit, mix and finesses every sound effect and note of music. This is one of the creative ways the sound reformists conjure up a sound from often unlikely moments. In Yash Raj camp, he brought the new technology of Dolby SR (although few films had also used), and
Aditya Chopra took note of the new dimension in sound effects and as Anuj had explained all sound and dialogues were done in the Dolby set up. Soon, after 300-weeks of a run of the movie in theaters, Anuj added another concept of Dolby 4.1 sound technique and Aditya let him go with his new innovation and ideas. The film became a classic hit, giving back Yash Raj its glory that he left with Deewar. Recently, Anup was active with sound department of Yash Raj films Mardani.

Pradeep Sarkar too. He has been a success man behind every sound effects of many popular films such as Gundaay, Dhoom-3,
Katti Batti to name a few. Anuj Mathur is regarded as one of the best sound designers in the industry, and he has come a long way in a very short span of time.
